Buy a $3,000 handbag with a $50,000 price tag, or spend $300 on a pair of Gucci men shoes.
It’s all about what you can afford, according to a new survey from TheStreet.com.
“When it comes to Gucci, you can be absolutely right,” said Brian Kiely, founder and CEO of TheStreet, in a statement.
“The fact that it is available in nearly every country, and that its price tag is $2,000 per pair is enough to make you think twice before buying a $2.5 million handbag.”
TheStreet’s report says that of the 2,800 people surveyed, 2,900 people had purchased Gucci handbags from the retailer in the past year, and another 3,200 had purchased a pair.
The price tag comes from the fact that Gucci has been selling premium handbags for decades, and this latest installment in the premium range is priced at more than $3 million.
The company is a major part of the global luxury watch market, and is known for its high-end handbags.
The company is one of the largest retailers of watches worldwide, and it has been the target of lawsuits by investors, with the Wall Street Journal saying that the company was “selling millions of watches a year to unsuspecting investors.”
